Has your mattress given up the ghost?
If your mattress has body impressions that look like something from a crime scene, it’s definitely time to think about a new one. But even if there are no visible signs of wear, your old innerspring mattress may deserve retirement.
A clinical study published in Applied Ergonomics found that subjects who slept on a new mattress achieved significant improvements in comfort, sleep quality, back pain and shoulder pain relative to sleeping on a mattress that was 5 years in age or older.
So consider buying a new mattress, and don’t let the kids use the new one as a trampoline.
